Milan Škriniar is reported to be on the verge of leaving Paris Saint-Germain. He was previously close to joining Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia last summer, but the deal fell through. Although long linked with Juventus, with whom he reportedly had an agreement, Galatasaray is now said to be close to finalizing the transfer. Turkish media have announced an agreement after Galatasaray’s coach, Okan Buruk, and sporting director Abdullah Kavukcu travelled to Milan to complete the transaction.

Milan Skriniar is set to fly to Istanbul to join Galatasaray as a new player. Tuttosport reported that the Slovak defender will be on a dry loan to the Lions until the season’s end. The Turkish club has agreed to cover his salary of approximately 4.5 million euros until the conclusion of the agreement. It was noted that Mauro Icardi influenced Skriniar’s decision, given their past association as teammates at Inter. Skriniar sought information from Icardi about Galatasaray and the Turkish league. The proposal from Galatasaray persuaded the 29-year-old to depart from PSG and relocate to Istanbul.

Antony may go down as one of United’s worst-ever signings. A total of 12 goals and five assists in 93 games makes for sorry reading and it may be for the best to get him out of the club as soon as possible, be it on loan or for a cut-price fee.

This season, Antony has made 11 appearances in all competitions for United. The 24-year-old is yet to make a starting XI in the Premier League this term, and all three of his starts have been in the Carabao Cup or the Europa League.

Antony will hope to get some more game time in United’s final 2024 fixture when they host in-form Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday in the Premier League.

A new contract or a new destination?

Real Madrid are monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool.

The current deal expires in June 25 with no talks underway as of now.

Liverpool has not indicated any desire to sell at this stage.

There’s no indication of player’s views so far.

Liverpool 6 turned down an approach for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid.

Milwall announce death of Goalkeeper Matija sarkic

Millwall goalkeeper Matija Sarkic has died at the age of 26.

Sarkic, a Montenegro international, joined the Championship club from Wolves in August 2023 and made 33 appearances last season.

He last played for his country in a 2-0 friendly defeat by Belgium on 5 June.

The Montenegro Football Association (FSCG) said Sarkic had died suddenly on Saturday morning, with local media reporting he collapsed at his apartment in Budva.

The FSCG described Sarkic as a “beloved member” of the squad and an “eternally smiling guy”.

“His untimely death has caused great pain to the Sarkic family,” it added.

Millwall said they were “completely devastated”.

“Everyone at the club sends their love and condolences to Matija’s family and friends at this immensely sad time,” they said.

Sarkic, who was born in Grimsby, played youth-team football for Belgian side Anderlecht before joining Aston Villa.

He had loan spells with Wigan, Stratford Town, Havant & Waterlooville and Livingston before a permanent move to Wolves in 2020.

Bournemouth sign Enes Unal

We are delighted to announce striker Enes Ünal has joined AFC Bournemouth on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old initially arrived on loan from La Liga side Getafe C.F. back in January, and we can now confirm the Turkey international has signed a four-year contract at Vitality Stadium.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: “We have been very impressed by Enes during his time with us over the past few months.

“His work rate and attitude have been exemplary following a long period of injury rehabilitation, and his desire to succeed in Premier League has been clear to see throughout.

Manchester United’s summer plans are beginning to take shape and now a left-back has been mentioned with Milos Kerkez linked.

With this campaign so far being plagued by injuries and woes at the left back position, a new signing in this position was always going to be hoped for at Old Trafford this summer.

Left-back was a problem position for Manchester United last season. Tyrell Malacia didn’t play a single game all campaign long, while Luke Shaw was injured far more than we’d all like. It led to Diogo Dalot receiving the lion’s share of minutes in that position, though he’s better on the right-hand side.

Although there are several transfer holes to fill for the Old Trafford club, perhaps a new left-sided defender should be somewhat high up the list of priorities. I assume Alvaro Fernandez could have been next in line for minutes, but he has since signed for Benfica on a permanent deal

Now, talkSPORT believe they’ve identified a potential option for United in that area; Milos Kerkez.

According to their information, United are said to be ‘interested’ in signing the 20-year-old Premier League left-back, who currently plies his trade for Bournemouth.
